Susan Goldstein transforms mathematical concepts into forms of art. She uses precise measurements and mathematical equations in order to create various patterns using techniques such as crochet or knitting. She specializes in fabric arts and bead work primarily. She has made mathematical concepts come to life, such as the non- Euclidean plane, which is a shape that has no single side. She utilizes abstraction and the concept of form in many of her works. Susan has also created a mobile depicting a pattern seen throughout history where certain wallpaper patterns were influenced by various cultures. These patterns have been simplified to their basic symmetrical form. This mobile depicts the familial line of these patterns.
