Staging Examples

1. Spiderman Into the Spiderverse (00:00:00 - 00:01:40) In this scene staging is utilized by

highlighting the character of interest in each shot. As dialogue is being said, it focuses on the character speaking. It is also used to highlight important items, such as the computer. Staging is also being used to show the dominant character in each shot, with cascading, dramatic angles to show how Doc Oc is a powerful force in comparison to the other characters in the scene.

2. Kitbull (00: 02:30- 00: 03:17) Staging helps bring out the personalities in each character. The

cat is skittish and has crazy, frantic movements, while the dog is more chilled and laid back in comparison. Staging also helps show who has the bottle cap, highlighting either the cat or dog specifically, then both once they begin playing with it together.

3. Bee and Puppycat Ep.9 (00:00:58- 00:02:30) There is a direct contracts between Puppycat's

reluctance to get married and Cardamom's attempts to marry him to his dog. Staging shows the difference in desire and personality by highlighting each characters actions. As Puppycats attempts to escape from his situation, Cardamom attempts to stop him with his hammer device. This then leads to the discovery of Cardamom's mother.
